Workstation for Pastels and Oils

The light oak cabinet by Edgmon Art is great for organizing  and storing all of my pastels and oil paint supplies. The dark cabinet on the left is a microwave stand and the one on the right is an old computer stand, which works great as well.  I actually can find things in seconds instead of hours.  Not sure it will stay this neat and tidy.  In fact things have already changed since this photo.  Doing art and being tidy usually are not simultaneous.

Portrait Demonstration

This year at the SKB Workshop/Art Conference Everett Raymond Kinstler was scheduled to do a demonstration.  Everyone was excited to watch Everett Kinstler paint. Not only is he a master painter,  he is an entertainer.  What a thrill to be in that room and witness him paint Jim Parkman from life .

"Wild Thing"

Feels great to have a new work space that offers plenty of natural light.

This pastel painting is not where I want it just yet . . . so more work will be done. This little guy and his mom are wild horses in Wyoming and we just happened to be in the right place at the right time to capture the sight of three of them.  One was a beautiful big grey stallion (a painting of him will come also). The curious look in his eyes and the rough hair coat tell a story of his yet young life.  Definitely is important to stay close to mom. "Wild Thing" seems to be a good fit when titling this painting.
